Hello or Bonjour from all of us at CBSC.
This Sunday sees Cardiff Blues take on French side Racing Metro in what is our biggest game since the Amlin Challenge Cup final in 2010. With a win vital in securing our place in the Heineken Quarter finals and dare we say it, a bonus point win guaranteeing that place, it is now, more than ever that the boys need you!
Many thanks to those of you who made the trip with us to London Irish. Both the Blues players and coaches have remarked on how much of a lift the vocal support gives them, something they also commented upon for the away fixture in Paris.
This Sunday, we are asking you to turn up and make some noise! Whilst we base ourselves in Section 112, we truly hope all Cardiff Blues Supporters, from Cardiff and around the region and beyond can get down to the stadium and make this a truly special occasion.
We will be gathering in the Fan Zone at our usual meeting point and we really hope you can join us there before the game. We have spoken with the Blues with regards to the match day experience and are hoping that when (if!) the boys score, they will not play the loud blaring music but allow the supporters to create that atmosphere by screaming their(your) lungs out. This is where you come in!
Bring a flag. Bring a beret. Bring your voice. Bring a friend. Bring a win!

Committee Meeting Update – 9January 2012
We had a very busy committee meeting on Monday 9Jan. Mostly this was planning the forthcoming trip to London Irish to which we are running 3 coaches and organising a meet up with the opposition supporters at the Swan Pub in Reading.
In addition we discussed our popular VIP Event which we hope will take place prior to the Blues v Ulster game in February but this will not be confirmed until the fixture time and day is agreed. Our members names will be put into a draw for the chance to win tickets to this event which comprises of complimentary drinks and nibbles pre match and premier seats. We hope to combine this with a Meet The Academy Players session after the game which will be open to all. Watch this space for further details.
We also commenced planning for our Ladies Lunch which will take place on the Blues Ladies Day – Saturday 24 March. Jen is in charge of organising this event – further details and tickets will be available soon.
And finally – further to comments from our members we compiled some feedback for the Blues regarding the availability of facilities at the Blues v Leinster game where it was noted that bars were closed - resulting in long queues pre match, bars and food outlets were closed during the match and at half time, programmes were difficult to find and there were problems with the queues at the ticket office. (NB - This was already on their radar after the game of Saturday and we are discussing this with them at a meeting in the near future)

Our friends at London Irish Supporters Club have invited our supporters who are staying overnight, to join them after the match on Saturday. Please see message below from Chris, LISC
"After the match many supporters make their way back to the Three Guineas at the station. Some of us are going from there for a post match curry opposite. We would be delighted if some of the Cardiff supporters could join us. Could you spread the word about this?"

Cardiff Blues Supporters’ Club are still taking bookings for the crucial trip to London Irish on Saturday 14 January, but only until midnighton Wednesday 11, so if you are interested in travelling, please book ASAP. Don’t forget your flags, scarves and best singing voices so we can be the 16man for the boys in Blue!
The itinerary for the trip is as follows:
·All coaches depart at 10am from the Cardiff City Stadium
·Arrival at The Swan Pub at approx 1pm (traffic permitting)
·Depart The Swan Pub at 2pm for transfer to the Madejski Stadium
·Kick off for London Irish v Cardiff Blues at 3.40pm
·Depart Madejski Stadium at 7pm for travel back to Cardiff with drop offs at Westgate St and CCS.
The cost of this trip is:

From 01/10/11 we are required to charge 5p for carrier bags. In order to not affect our pricing it was agreed that in the event of a carrier bag being required, we will reduce the cost of our merchandise by 5p accordingly. Any 5ps from carrier bags will be donated to Ty Hafan.

All our members can enjoy a 15% off all purchases behind the bar on production of a valid CBSC membership card for the 2011/12 season.
Our members who attended on Friday 19 August received a warm welcome. The manager also gave us a delicious complimentary hot buffet and we enjoyed some great ale. We were all made to feel very welcome so thanks to the Gareth and the staff at the Ninian from us and we hope to see you there on future match days.
